It Started with a Need Close to Home
WHERE IT STARTED
Bring Good People Together
George Roper founded Roper Staffing in 1982 with a straightforward idea.
Businesses in his community needed dependable employees. People in the community needed opportunities to work, provide for their families and move forward.
Staffing could create the connection.
What began as a local business grew as Roper built relationships with employers and job seekers across South Carolina.
The company has changed over the decades. The purpose behind it hasn’t.
Help people find good work. Help employers build better teams. Make a difference every day.
GROWING WITH SOUTH CAROLINA
From One Local Idea to Six Local Offices
South Carolina has changed considerably since 1982. Industries have grown. Communities have changed. Technology has transformed the way people find work and companies find talent.
Roper has grown alongside them.
Today, six physical offices serve communities across the Upstate, Midlands and coastal areas. Our work spans manufacturing and light industrial, warehouse and distribution, administrative and clerical, professional and direct hire, and government staffing.
But growth hasn’t taken Roper away from its local roots.
Our offices remain part of the communities they serve, giving candidates real people to meet and employers staffing professionals who can show up and learn their businesses.
WHAT HASN'T CHANGED
People Still Come First
The tools are different. Our approach is still personal.
We use technology when it can make the staffing process easier and faster. But technology doesn’t replace a conversation.
Our recruiters talk with applicants. We meet candidates personally. We visit client workplaces and ask questions about the work, the environment and the people who succeed there.
Because after four decades, we’ve learned that better connections start with knowing the people on both sides.
SERVING SOUTH CAROLINA
Here When South Carolina Needs Us
Roper’s connection to South Carolina extends across decades, communities and industries.
That includes a long history of providing staffing support to South Carolina government agencies through the state contract, along with relationships with private-sector employers throughout the state.
Through changing economies, changing technology and changing workforce needs, Roper has remained focused on helping South Carolina work.
WHY IT MATTERS
A Job Can Change What Comes Next
Work has an impact far beyond the hours someone spends on the job.
For an employee, the right opportunity can provide stability, new skills and a path forward.
For an employer, the right person can relieve pressure, strengthen a team and keep the business moving.
And when South Carolina’s people and businesses succeed, their communities benefit, too.
That’s why Roper’s philosophy is bigger than filling an opening:
PART OF THE COMMUNITY
Invested in the Places We Call Home
Being local means participating in the community, too.
Roper supports local nonprofit organizations and encourages employees to volunteer their time in the communities where they live and work.
It’s another expression of the same idea that started the company: When you have an opportunity to help, show up.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
Some Things Are Worth Holding Onto
The tools will keep changing. The jobs will change. South Carolina will keep growing.
Roper will keep listening, showing up and bringing good people together.
Because after decades in staffing, the most important part of the business is still the people.
Let's Make the Right Connection
From production floors to professional offices, we connect talented people with employers throughout South Carolina.
